Dobrich Region is situated in the northeastern Bulgaria. It includes the seaside, located north of Kranevo Village. The region offers marvelous opportunities for sea tourism for those looking for pleasant and quiet vacation away from the luxurious, noisy and pretentious resorts.
Located north of Varna are the towns of Kavarna and Balchik, as well as the resorts of Albena, Tuzlata and Russalka. The rich cultural and historical heritage is a premise for development of cultural tourism. An impressive sight of interest is the palace complex of Romanian queen Maria in Balchik. It comprises a palace, a sea garden and a botanical garden.
The Dobrudja area offers good conditions for hunting tourism - there are four hunting reserves in the municipalities of Dobrich, Balchik, General Toshevo and Tervel. A significant amount of mineral spas, as well as deposits of healing mud are located on the territory of the region.
In the region is situated the mythical Cape of Kaliakra. Nowadays it is a peaceful nature reserve, where hooded cormorants nests, seals and dolphins cavort in the sea, and pink starlings and rock blackbirds frequent the cliffs and caves.
It is worth seeing the Durankulak and Shabla lakes proclaimed protected areas with national significance. They are home of many threaten with extinction and rare plant and animal species. On an island in the Durankulak lake is situated the temple of Kibela - one of the biggest prehistoric necropolis in the world.
Yailata - a nature and historical-archeological reserve is another sight of interest in the region.
