The town of Dolna Banya is located 75 km away from Sofia and Plovdiv, 30 km to the east of Samokov and 18 km away from Borovets. It is situated in North-East slopes of the the Rila Mountain at 650 m above the sea level.
At the Dolna Banya estate you can take advantage of the therapeutic properties of the mineral water known all over the world. It has the wide spectrum of the useful properties of the akrato-thermale.
The water temperature is 67,8 C. The mineral water is used for treatment of rheumatic and skin diseases, diseases of the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, motor and nervous systems and the genitals.
The recreation campus is 5 km to the south, with many recreation facilities and children camps. There is a tourist challet, called Gerginitsa (80 beds). Marked hiking tracks start from the recreation campus across Eastern Rila.
Dolna Banya is situated in the slopes of the Rila Mountain in the upper course of the Maritza River. The air in the town is crystal clear, with high negative ionisation and no sharp fluctuations of temperature. Almost the whole year wether is sunny and never foggy.
The proximity of Borovets makes possible to use all capacities of the resort. Especially attractive is the winter season, when the ski-runs are at your disposal.
If you enjoy pure nature, the Rila Mountain is the place for you with it's numerous eco-paths, virgin recesses and sheltered chalets. National park Rila, being one of the biggest parks in Bulgaria and on the Balkan Peninsula, offers you the possibility of practicing eco- and ethno-tourism.
